Qi Hong

Qi Hong (祁宏)(born 3 June 1976 in Shanghai) is a Chinese football player.

He played for Shanghai Shenhua and now plays for Shanghai United F.C..

He plays for China national football team and was a participant at the 2002 FIFA World Cup. Qi Hong is famous for his goal from 20 meters in the 1-0 home win against Oman in the World Cup 2002 qualifiers that sent China to the World Cup. During the World Cup 2002 qualifiers, he was often regarded by many in China as the playmaker of the team. His midfield influence waned after the World Cup and the rise of Li Tie as the creative force of the team.
