Diagram of British Mk IV Shrapnel round for QF 2.95 inch Mountain Gun, 1914.
Propellant charge : 5 1/4 oz Cordite, size 5. Igniter of 4 drams S.F.G.2 powder. Paper cylinder between charge and shell, 2.65 inches long. Cartridge case Mk III.
Primer : No. 4 Percussion primer.
Shell : Mk II. forged steel body, 1.5 Calibres Radius Head. G.S. fuze hole. Wood block fitted inside head. 203 lead-antimony bullets, 41/lb. Length 9.075 inches. Diameter 2.941 inches. Weight filled & fuzed 12.5 lb.
Fuze No 56, 60, 63 or 65.
