[edit] Names
There is a mess regarding names of post-1945 factories and aircraft designations. I don't know when Union of Aerospace Industry became Union of Aerospace and Engine Industry PZL (ZPLiS PZL). My educated guess is, that soon after end of stalinism in 1956 - and around this time, first newly designed planes with PZL name started to appear (PZL-101 Gawron, PZL M-2), even though factories were named WSK. I can't figure out, if (and when) WSK-Mielec was renamed WSK PZL-Mielec - possibly only after 1989. Also, I can't find reliable information, if some aircraft officially carried designation PZL, especially TS-8 and TS-11. Evidently during a period 1950-1956 the designation PZL was non-existent at all (probably it was banned as pre-war "capitalist" one). aircraft Pibwl ←« 20:03, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
