[edit] POV pushing
You're in danger of breaking the 3RR rule. Your edit is entirely WP:POV since there are three theories regarding his (alleged) ethnicity. Alleged since this was not a matter in the XII century but became such nowadays. And there were certainly no Romanians at the time - there were Vlachs (shepherds), Bulgarians (lowland peasants) and Cumans (north of the Danube) that participated in the Uprising. I know what Romanian historiography has to say on the subject and what Bulgarian claims. Neutral scholars (non-Bulgarian and non-Romanian) do not agree on the matter as well. the n who are you to say which of the versions is true? Nationalism should not be a factor in Wikipedia articles, sorry. It'd be better if you were to read a couple of books before editing again, mainly: The Late Medieval Balkans: A Critical Survey from the Late Twelfth Century by John Van Antwerp Fine, and others. I'll point you to a couple of credible works who call them Bulgarians just for you to see that a lot of scholars say that: Nature and Society in Historical Context by Mikulas Teich, Roy Porter, Bo Gustafsson; The Last Centuries of Byzantium by Donald MacGillivray Nicol and The Oxford Illustrated History of Medieval Europe of course. So how about citing them, ey? Again that's just to show you that there's no consensus among scholars on the subject. And if there is to be any someday, it surely won't be that they were Romanians since there were no Romanians at the time. --Laveol T 13:32, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- If the matter is controversial, say it in the article, my friend, I have no problem with it. I have a problem though with simply deleting information, which is based on credible sources Pyretus (talk) 07:06, 8 May 2008 (UTC)
