Pyrotec, from the Greek word for fire or heat, was the name chosen to represent my interests: the history of railways and canals; industrial phosphorus-based chemicals, including matches; Gunpowder; the Royal Ordnance Factories as a whole, including the associated World War I & II Research Establishments at the Royal Arsenal, Woolwich and Waltham Abbey; the equivalent Agency Factories run by ICI Nobel Industries; and their Royal Navy equivalents.
I have a BSc and MSc from Salford and an MSc from Southampton.
I've lived in Birmingham; Salisbury; Renfrewshire and Somerset.
