[edit] Range in Mexico, etc
With the Northern Cardinal, the Pyrrhuloxia has virtually the identical Range maps for:
- Arizona
- New Mexico
- Baja California Sur
- Southwestern Texas
The exceptions are that, the Northern Cardinal is mostly in:
Both of these birds, are found in the Sky islands of SE Arizona, SW New Mexico, and northern Sonora, also called the Madrean sky islands. Michael inHOT,YumaAZ, --Mmcannis 16:09, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Incorrect?
"remove US centric and incorrect, replace with cardinal family)"
I fail to see why this article was "US centric." It includes Mexico in the range. Please explain.
I believe the article was correct. All three birds are members of the same genus (Cardinalis) and well as the same family (Cardinalidae).
- Pyrhuloxia - Cardinalis sinuatus
- Northern Cardinal - Cardinalis cardinalis
- Vermilion Cardinal - Cardinalis phoeniceus
Therefore, I reversed the edit. Jeff dean 13:50, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
