Pyracantha angustifolia is a species of Firethorn shrub. The flowers are white which produce small round berries like fruit. The fruit are pome and can be orange or red color. The fruit are astringent and bitter making them inedible for humans, but are a food source for birds. The stems and branches have sharp spines. The leaves, fruit and seeds contain hydrogen cyanide. It is cultivated and grown in yards and gardens as ornamental plant. It can be use to make hedges for home secerity. This species is native to China but has been introduce to NA.
