[edit] AfD nomination of James English School

An editor has nominated James English School, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/James English School and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 00:59, 6 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Suggestions

School related articles tend to get quick attention, if they are not properly sourced and sufficiently notable. I learned that during my first article for a school. Based on my experience during the last week, I would highly recommend the following:

  • Review some of the standard policies for all articles to help establish some Notibility for this entry. Those would be Notability, Reliable Sources, Verifiability.
  • Review the WikiProject Schools for additional guidance and examples of well-written, well-sourced school articles.
  • Review the proposed guideline for School related articles WP:Notability_(schools). This is not a fully approved, or even agreed on, guideline; but, it does provide at least a minimal starting point for properly documenting your school, if it meets notability requirements.
  • Don't assume that editors "Delete" opinion means anything harsh. Simply put, as the article currently stands, it doesn't meet minimal requirements to be included in wikipedia. Review Assume Good Faith and do not assume that every editor will fully embrace every suggestion in Don't Bite the Newcomers
  • Don't use other poorly sourced or non-notable articles as a reason that yours should be included. I was guilty of this myself after I looked at many other school entries and thought that mine was sufficient. Review the What about X?
