This article is about the megalopolis in South Africa. For other uses, see PWV (disambiguation).
The PWV Megalopolis (Pretoria-Witwatersrand-Vereeniging) is the term referring to the contiguous urban centres lying almost linearly in the South African province of Gauteng.
This organised megalopolis structure is currently under plans by the Gauteng Government and also occurs under the name Gauteng City Region [1].
After the demise of apartheid, the term PWV was used by the new government to refer to the Province which was later renamed Gauteng.
