Talk:Puzzlehunt
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
It would be useful to create some consistency of definitions about what constitutes a puzzlehunt, treasure hunt, scavenger hunt, etc. Compare this page to that for The Game and other listed events. What distinguishes the Miami Herald event from the Haystack from the Mystery Hunt from The Game? They appear to this writer to be essentially the same kind of event: a series of linked puzzles and/or tasks leading to a single goal, perhaps with the incorporation of intermediate meta-puzzles.
Additional research is necessary regarding the status of listed college events, as well as Manbites Dog's Puzzlehunt, which appears to have last been run in 2003.
The page on meta-puzzles should also be discussed. It functions essentially as a dictionary definition page and would more usefully be incorporated into this page and/or the page on puzzles. --Glp 16:15, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
I know wikipages are not meant to be pages of links but I just added a page on the Clue Chaser puzzlehunts and was wondering if it would be appropriate to add some material to this page. Might flesh it out a little by adding the differences between real-world and strictly online puzzlehunts.--MisterrBen (talk) 17:25, 21 February 2008 (UTC)
