This image illustrates some chain reactions in the Puyo Puyo game. Each of the three grids uses a lighter color to denote the last pair of pieces placed on the grid, which would trigger the chain reaction.
Grid 7: 2 step chain, A then B
Grid 8: 3 step chain, A then B then C
Grid 9: 5 step chain, A then B then C then A then B
