User:Kleinzach claimed in an edit comment that the Category:Opera tag "is necessary for inclusion in a complete list of operas included on WP".

The category description at Category:Operas says: "This category contains operas, subcategorized by composers, genres and original language." This implies, if anything, that the articles should only be included in the relevant subcategories, and that there should be no articles in Category:Operas itself.

It does not say anything remotely resembling "This category is a complete list of operas included on WP". Nor "Every opera should be included in this parent category as well as in all relevant subcategories". (And rightly so. If every opera was in Category:Operas as well as the relevant subcategories, it would defeat the purpose of having the subcategories.) --Paul A 01:50, 14 November 2006 (UTC)
