[edit] Supergroup?

Puscifer = Tool/A Perfect Circle Member Maynard James Keenan. If you'd clicked the link to what the term 'Supergroup' actually means, Puscifier are classified as one. Supergroup = a band compiled of members who have previously obtained fame in another band. I'm guessing A Perfect Circle are a 'Supergroup' too, for example.

I agree, but is the amount of creative control important? i was under the impression that Maynard taps people to play on tracks that he's written. am i wrong? Deutschebag17 17:46, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Puscifer isn't really a band, though, as I understand it. It seems more like a Maynard solo project where he taps other musicians, some of them famous in their own right, to lend some talent to various studio tracks. If you considered Puscifer a supergroup, then any kind of collaboration between famous musicians---say, Santana with Rob Thomas on vocals for "Smooth" would qualify. I don't think that any of the guest musicians are really considered Puscifer band members per se. I'm pretty sure Puscifer isn't planning on touring once the album is finished, either. I would say that since the designation as a supergroup is somewhat questionable, the safer bet would simply to leave it out. Guyminuslife 05:58, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

I think it's worth mentioning that a band by the name of Jucifer who's first album debuted in '98 also has a song by the name of Queen B which can be found on their second album (released 2002) "I Name You Destroyer". I find it interesting that Maynard chose to name the first single of Puscifer's upcoming album Queen B. Whether it is a cover, an homage, or a jab is yet to be seen. Yes, Puscifer is a Supergroup. Doesn't matter if it only has one member, other musicians are associated with the ensemble, which makes it a band. Therefore, Puscifer IS a supergroup. Tool-apc (talk) 01:16, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

ArtistDirect interview with Maynard - Details on releasing the album himself, among other things. LaraLove 19:11, 21 January 2008 (UTC)

Nice interview, but it seems fall short of a reliable source as self-published by a non-expert interviewer ([1]). Skomorokh incite 19:23, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
