Pussycat (Dutch band)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pussycat was a Dutch country music group driven by the three Kowalczyk sisters: Tonny, Betty and Marianne. Other members of the band were Lou Wille, Tonny's husband, Theo Wetzels, Theo Coumans and John Theunissen. The three girls had been telephone operators in Limburg while John and the two Theo's were in a group called Scum. Lou Wille played in a group called Ricky Rendall and his centurions until he married Tonny and created the group Sweet Reaction that eventually became 'Pussycat'
In 1976 they scored a hit with the song "Mississippi", which climbed to number one in the UK Singles Chart. It was later followed by "Smile" in 1976, and "Hey Joe" in 1978.
