[edit] "Speedy discussion" tag discussion
I see somebody has added a speedy deletion tag onto this article, claiming the article to be about a person, etc., where notability is not established. I disagree strongly, namely because I think the nominator's reasoning is incorrect. The article, as the first two sentences point out, is about a song that established a famous country music singer's career, not about some unknown performer. The song's writer, who is also famous, also had his first No. 1 song with "Pure Love." The song has been notable for 33 years, and can be easily verified through use of the Billboard charts, All Music Guide[1] and many other sources. As Wikipedia:AFD#Before nominating an AfD points out, few articles are perfect and the afd nomination should be used only if the article is unsalvagable. Although the "Pure Love" article is definitely only in the starting stages, I believe it fails to meet the nominator's criteria for speedy deletion.
- OK, see that the tag is removed; I'll give the writer the benefit of the doubt and say that it was added erroneously. After all, we're all human! :-) [[Briguy52748 (talk) 00:41, 18 December 2007 (UTC)]]
