[edit] When was it established?

The source on file for the article states that Purdy was established in 1825. The source looks reliable to me, overall.

The signs in Purdy, however, read "Welcome to Purdy Established 1823".

What is correct? doxTxob \ talk 20:19, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unreferenced fact

I moved the following from the Folklore subsection until the facts are referenced: "The facts are that Col. Hurst moved from the Hurst Mansion in later life, sick and broke, and died in Mt. Gilead. He was not murdered." Any help is welcome. doxTxob \ talk 22:24, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
