Purvis High School is a school within the Lamar County School District. It is located in Purvis at the address: 220 School St. Purvis, MS 39475. The schools phone number is 601-794-6221. The current Principal is C. H. Bryant and the Assistant Principal is Stacy Johnson. [1].

The school's mascot is a tornado, and the school colors are Purple and Gold.

Baseball

The Purvis High School baseball team has enjoyed success as of late. From 2002 - 2008, the Tornadoes have reached the South State Championship 5 times, reached the State Championship 4 times, and won the State Championship twice. The chart below depicts their recent success. (Team in parenthesis is opponent). Division 8-3A is a very competitive baseball division. Since 2002, the division has been represented in the state championship by Purvis (2002, 2004, 2005, 2007), Greene Co. (2003 State Champions), or Sumrall (2008 State Champions).
