Purusottampur is a town and a notified area committee in Ganjam district in the Indian state of Orissa.

According to the 2001 India census[1], Purusottampur had a population of 14,249. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Purusottampur has an average literacy rate of 61%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 71%, and female literacy is 50%. In Purusottampur, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.
