Purok

"Purok" is the main subdivision of a barangay. Sitio is closely related into Purok but the last mentioned covers mainly the whole barangay. Sitio doesn't have this characteristics because it is only a territorial enclave in a certain part of a barangay. A barangay have several Puroks depending on its structure. Every Purok is governed by a councilor, a political officer next to Brgy. Chairman. For example, a certain barangay like Bilogo is divided into 7 Puroks. Definitely, it has also 7 councilors governing each Purok.
