The Purdue Opportunity Award is a scholarship program designed for low income or students who have overcome hardships in life. It also supports the recipients of the scholarship in their academic life. The scholarship is offered to incoming Purdue University freshman. The scholarship covers full tuition and room and board for the first year of college. Along with financial aid, the recipients also attend meeting that offer help with studying, meeting new people, and adjusting to college. At the beginning of the year there is a retreat at Camp Tecumsah to learn about the program and what the upcoming year will entail.
