Purab Aur Paschim is a 1970 Indian film; the dialogue is in Hindi. Produced and directed by Manoj Kumar, it stars Manoj, Saira Banu, Ashok Kumar, Pran and Vinod Khanna. The music is by Kalyanji Anandji. The 2007 film Namastey London is based on this film.
This was the second film by Manoj Kumar where he stars as a Bharat (First being Upkar) and his 3rd film on patriotism. ( Shaheed being his first, to be followed later by Roti Kapda Aur Makaan and Kranti). In this movie a part of a family settles abroad in the UK and gets westernised. Manoj Kumar helps them realise that one should not forget one's roots or look down on one's culture.
