[edit] Action Plan
- Read each of these policies carefully:
Wikipedia:Verifiability- Read by Punk Boi 8 20/1/07Wikipedia:Neutral point of view- Read by Punk Boi 8 20/1/07Wikipedia:Civility- Read on 21/1/07 by Punk Boi 8the essay Wikipedia:WikiLoveand familiarize yourself with the editing guidelines Manual of Style, Guide to layout, and Citing sourcesRead Reliable Sources and Citing Sources - and review their applicability as an implementation guid to Verifiability (Task 1 from TheronJ)
- Edit in the article and talk space primarily (i.e. over 95% of the edits)
- Begin editing articules using TheronJ's suggestions (Task 2)
- Wikipedia currently has no sources for the statement "The sun rises in the east and sets in the west." More generally, the sunrise page has no sources.
- Visit your local library and ask for help from the reference librarian, or a science librarian. Find at least three reference books that offer broad information about the sunrise. No more than one of them may be a paper encylopedia.
- Using paper reference books, add page-specific citations to at least five sentences in the sunrise article using Wikipedia footnotes. Use template:cite book for any book entries.
- Attempt to provide citations for all other factual statements in sunrise. (You need not provide a citation for the same fact twice). You may use any reliable source, including reliable online encylopedias such as
ExpediaEncarta or reliable books found on online sources such as Google Book Search. Use appropriate citation templates for all cites. - Other than creating a "References" section and adding the footnotes themselves, try to make as few edits as possible to the actual text.
- After finishing editing and discussing sunrise, add sources to at least three more articles listed in the subcategories to Category:Articles lacking sources by month (Task 3 from TheronJ)
- [TBA]
- Begin editing articules using TheronJ's suggestions (Task 2)
- Do not make any edits on pages that start with "Wikipedia:"
- Edit with these ideas in mind
- Verifiability: each edit to an article should be verifiable to a reliable source
- Neutrality: each edit to an article should use neutral descriptive language
- Civility: all edits to any page and the edit summaries should use kind language in the spirit of Wikilove
Do not invoke the ignore all rules policy to justify your actions, so don't take any action along this line of reasoning.- Boldness: be bold in proposing useful changes; but do not be bold in reverting (especially do not revert a change to your bold changes) - instead take it to the talk page
- Remember discussions should be done respectfully - if you get in a disagreement and want to yell at someone email Trödel and I will help you word it so that you can explain your frustration without being demeaning

[edit] Implementation / Suggestions
[edit] 19 January 2007
I know I have been involved heavliy in external tasks right now, but please please focus on building a stellar reputation by primarily contributing to the articles, i.e. almost all your edits should be to article and talk pages. In the mean time I suggest that you mark all pages related to Wikipedia Times for speedy deletion or as an inactive project for now. You may not mean for it to, but your insistence on involving yourself in areas other than article contibutions appears like you have some other motive for your presence here. I have updated the mentoring page with suggestions for editing and reading. --Trödel 20:30, 19 January 2007 (UTC)

I copyied your recent edit list to excel and was surprised to find that about 11% of your edits have been to the article and article talk spaces. Even if you through out all of the user and user talk space edits, it would still be only 21% with over half (53% being in the Wikipedia space). I have not been strict in enforcing my understanding of the mentoring agreement, but this edit in particular assumes authority for the group that you do not have. This is a volunteer organization, people are not assigned work, they assume work for themselves. Additionally, you should not remove edits from other editors like you did here. I thank you for removing the original edit immediately after that. But it is more appropriate to strike out comments and just say "My bad!" or something like that.
At this point I feel that I have to take things another step. Since there are only 5 edits out of 65 over the last week to the article space. Do not edit anything starting with "Wikipedia:", and do not make any edits that suggest you are seeking revenge on Ral315 (i.e. the Wikipedia Times subpages to your user page). I will give you a cooling off perioed (i.e. I will block you) if you continue to ignore the mentoring plan to build back your reputation and contribute to the encyclopdia. --Trödel 17:03, 22 January 2007 (UTC)
