Punknews Records (PNR) is an independent record label founded and run by three current and former editors of the music news website Punknews.org [1]. While the founders are located in different cities in the United States and Canada the city of Toronto, Ontario is commonly considered the label's headquarters.
The label was announced on New Years Day in 2005, with the signing of Minneapolis, Minnesota based four-piece Somerset announced in May of that year. The label released their of their debut full-length album 'Pandora' on August 9th, 2005. The label followed with the signing of Chicago's Ryan's Hope, which was announced in October of 2005 with that band's debut for the label 'Apocalypse In Increments' released in April of 2006.
The label is distributed by California's Epitaph Records.
