Krosoczka's book tells the story of five farm animals— Sheep, Pig, Chicken, Goat and Cow—who are an underground rock band, perform a punk cover of "Old MacDonald had a Farm" while Farmer Joe is asleep.

The book was one of Child Magazine's "Best Books of the Year" in 2005.
It was also a Texas 2 by 2 Reading List Book and a Miami Herald "Best Book of the Year"
It was recommended by NY1, The Boston Globe, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, The Wichita Eagle , and the The Associated Press.
It received a starred review by Kirkus Reviews.
Punk Farm has also been nominated for the following state awards:
