The PMT, or Pune Municipal Transport, also known as Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Ltd or PMPML, is the public transport service provider for the city of Pune in India.
The PMT currently operates 818 buses operating 63.4 million km of route and transports approximately 0.23 billion passengers per annum. Bus fares are charged on the basis of km travelled, and range from the minimum fare of 140 paise for 2 km to 1485 paise for a journey of 60 km.
To address issues concerning PMT, a local bus users group has emerged recently and is active in many areas of the city.
