[edit] Summary

Differences in land use reflecting old ahupuaʻa boundaries in Puna, Hawaiʻi. The boundaries of the ahupuaʻa of Keaʻau are easily recognizable by the densely packed land lots (just south of the highway, in red); the larger lots north of and immediately to the south of the highway are part of the old ahupuaʻa of ʻŌlaʻa. Map created from publicly available GIS data.
