Talk:Pump-action

Merger makes sense to me. I think it should be merged. Yaf 18:04, 16 February 2006 (UTC)
Well, the thing is, there are different KINDS of Pump-Action weaponry, such as Pump-Action rifles. - Some Anonymous Fellow 68.164.5.121
I agree with Mr. Anonymous above, there are other weapons in addition to the shotgun that use this kind of action. Also the page about the pump-action shotgun should be about the shotgun itself, and this page should be more specific about the pump-action. I see no point in merging. - BlackCat 13:40, 20 February 2006
I absolutely agree- Pump-action does not imply a shotgun, whereas merging would imply that they are.
Why don't they merge pump-action rifle and pump-action shotgun into this article?
- A pump action shotgun is a shotgun that uses a pump-action--what more can be said? Everything that needs to be there is covered under those two articles. Even oddball things like the old Tec-9 airsoft gun can be covered by the two articles pump-action and airsoft, so why should pump action shotguns be treated any differently? scot 20:11, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
Pump action should probably be the general article, with categories within it for pump action shotguns and pump action rifles. Respectfully, SamBlob 03:07, 1 November 2006 (UTC)
A merger would not make since here. Would you merge bolt-action into rifle, just because this system is used it many of them? This article compliments the others of this sort of series, such as pump action, lever action, and even the old falling block action. It would be detrimental to those just looking for the different ways that a firearm can be reloaded. M. S. Eaglestrike7339 01:48, 12 December 2006 (UTC)
