Pulivendla is located at 14.4167° N 78.2333° E.[2] It has an average elevation of 272 meters (895 feet).

It is a fast developing town in the district with a population of more than 1,00,000. This is the most popular town in Kadapa district and state as well for its political background.

Dr. Y.S.Rajasekhara Reddy, Chief minister of Andhra Pradesh has been elected as MLA for four times in succession.Y.S. Raja Reddy, father of current chiefminister is another great personality from this town.The town has well developed roads,streets and water facilities unlike any other towns in the state.

C.C.Reddy founder of Visu Consultants now holds a key role in Andhra Pradesh governement in gettig foriegn investements hails for the same town

The climate is temperature and the land is fertile. Commercial crops like sunflower, banana, sweet lemon are grown in surrounding villages. Bananas and sweet lemons are exported to the states of Assam, Maharastra, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

The town's main drinking water resource is Chitravati dam, Parnapalli.

Ranganatha temple, Bhavani gudi and Ammavrisala are the main temples.

The film stars Padma Nabham (Simhadripuram), B.Nagi Reddy (Eddulayyagari Kottapalli) are from this town. Nagi Reddy also set up Vijaya Studios in Chennai. He also established the children's magazine Chandamama.

[edit] Uranium Mining

On Aug. 23, 2007, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) gave its approval for setting up of a uranium mine and processing plant at Mabbuchintalapalli-Tummalapalle, about 15 km south of Pulivendula, at a total cost of 11.06 billion rupees ($269.9 million). The plant will be set up by the Uranium Corporation of India. Foundation stone was laid on 20 November, 2007 by Dr Y. S. Rajashekar Reddy, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The mine is likely to be commissioned within 30 months and the processing plant in 36 months.[3][4]
