Puli Varudhu is a Tamil movie starring Githan Ramesh and Mallika Kapoor, directed by G. V. Kumar.

Ramesh (Jithan ramesh) son of Manivannan and Saranya. Manivannan is the leading Ad-Film maker. Karupa(Karunaas) and other friend stay i Ramesh's house as paying guests. But they are treated well as their son by Ramesh's parents. Parents want their son to fall in love with a girl and get married. But he prefers arranged marriage.

Ramesh's friend marriage is getting fixed and along with karunaas he goes to his friends village to attend the marriage. On the way to the village, he gets a dream where he would meet a beautiful girl and his friend would die meeting up a lorry accident. He wakes up with a shout. Both the friends attend their friend's wedding and Ramesh happens to meet Gayathri(Mallika Kappoor) a beautiful girl and falls in love. She is none other than his dream girl. Karunaas informs the love of Ramesh with Gayathri to his parents.

On returning back to their home,Ramesh's parents accepts his love and affection for Gayathri and they decide to meet Gayathri along with her parents in order to finalize their engagement and fix the date for the Marriage. On travel,Ramesh again gets a nightmare in which he gets engaged to Gayathri and before the marriage,his father would pass away due to a heart attack. And Gayathri would attempt for suicide. Again this time he comes out of the dream with a shout. Parents ask Ramesh about the reason for his sudden scream. He denies to tell. Karunaas ask him about it. He tells him his dream. In the morning they land up in the village and things go as normal. But some of his dream becomes true like Gayathri would speak to him and the places where she would take him and so on. After the engagement Ramesh along with his friend and family retun to city.

At this point Ramesh fears that his dream might come true and he panics. As a result, he begins to avoid everyone and everything including Gayathri and goes to the extent of cancelling the wedding. Did Ramesh overcomes his dreams and did the lovers get united forms the climax.
