Talk:Puhar
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Hey its kinda baseless to state that Puhar was destroyed by the Tsunami (if you have any reference as to scientist's speculation, kindly provide link).
As, the established fact or at least accepted fact is that both Kaverippompatanam and kapadapuram was destroyed by floods/sea level rise.
- A Tsunami (as i understand) is a sudden rise of the waterlevel in the shores due to underwater sesimic activity...
- My point is, very rarely Tsunamis breach and DESTROY entire cities..especially something as big as Puhar, which stands at 49Sqmiles (underwater) and in most cases reversible..(water recedes to the ocean)
- A rise in sealevel is on the other hand, a slow process and in most cases irreversable..
thanks for your time.
