Pudiyankam

Pudiyankam, or Puthiyankam, is a small village in Alathur Taluk, in the Palakkad district of Kerala, south India. The actual spelling is "Puthiyankam", although "Pudiyankam" is used by the Postal Department. The village is situated about 22 km from Palakkad, on the route to Trissur, and is 2 km south of National Highway 47.
The main occupation is agriculture, with large areas of paddy fields. The population is mostly Hindu, with some Muslim households in Trippalur and Thekkumuri. The Pudiyankam-Kattusseri Vela is a festival celebrated on the Atham star in the month of Meenam, in the Malayalam calendar. It is held in Pudiyankam and the neighbouring village of Kattusseri.
