[edit] Highly incomprehensive and POV article

The article fails to cover both the early period (since January 11, 1918) and the post-WWII period. Limits for "early period", "centralisation" and "perestroika" are not mentioned, and the intermediate period between the latter two is not presented. Just one small detail ОГИЗ was eliminated in 1949 and its functions transferred to Главполиграфиздат. Most of the publishing companies mentioned were renamed in the 1950s and the 1960s. Etc.

Also, it's very naive to consider "censorship and control" the only feature of publishing houses in the Soviet Union. But even they were much different in different times - this is not reflected in the article too. Cmapm 11:02, 2 September 2006 (UTC)

Instead of kicking my poor ass, how about improvements, even the minimal ones you mentioned? A smart-ass attitude is hardly helpful in writing wikipedia, "where everyone can edit". We are not nominating this text fo "featured article", do we? I have found a piece of info missing in wikipedia. I don't pretent to be expert here, I did what I could. How about a little cooperation? `'Míkka
