I revised this page to update it to reflect the information that was current when I was in Chad from 2003-2005. As part of a project compiling information for Peace Corps Chad, I compiled information on Chadian holidays based upon official government work schedules and interviews with Chadian colleagues. This information should be correct as of today. I removed two entries from the table -- for April 13, National Day, and May 13, Africa Day (Freedom Day) -- since I neither heard of nor saw any observance of those holidays while I was in Chad, and schools, banks and businesses were open those days. If someone can verify that they are official holidays, please reinstate them but I didn't see any evidence of them. ConsiderPhlebas 12:06 a.m. October 1, 2006
