In the People's Republic of China, a public security bureau (PSB) (Chinese: 公安局; pinyin: Gōng'ānjú) refers to government offices that handle things such as policing, public security and social order, but also issues such as residence registration as well as immigration and travel affairs of foreigners. Each province and municipality in China (excluding Hong Kong and Macau) has a PSB branch.
