Psycho Styles Crew (P.S.C.) entered the U.K hip hop and bboy scene in 2005 and have gone from strength to strength ever since. Still up and coming, P.S.C are now battling and winning competitions across Britain. Recent titles include U.K University Bboy champions, Welsh Open Bboy Champions and Sony Ericsson Regional Conflict winners. Their passion for hip hop and dance soon reached the stage with regular performances at clubs, functions and events throughout Scotland . Edinburgh’s festival theatre was blown away by the choreography and individual skills of P.S.C’s debut at Breakin Convention with their show ‘Psycho Ward’ in May. 2007 is already shaping out to be a good year with many more competitions and performances high in demand, the Psycho's should be able to top 2006's achievements.Skills aside, a key feature of P.S.C is their energy. Whether battling, performing or teaching it is there in abundance. Where does this energy come from? Phrenik sees it like this: ‘We get our energy from each other, from within theourselves and of course from the music. Because all the members are close to one another it enhances the impact the group makes,’ and it really shows! It is the crews aim to keep hold of this energy and direct it as their skills progress over time. The crew has started to give back to the community in which they all began their journey, by teaching classes and workshops. Giving young people such a healthy outlet is really important and it keeps the Scottish scene healthy too with lots of new young dancers ready to test their skills. New faces getting the buzz from breaking is a constant reminder of the essence of bboying and what P.S.C are about. Often classes will take part in performances and help with choreography and perform it in their area. This gives them a chance to bring something to their neighbourhood and develop their confidence!
