6. This image specifically conveys the appearance of the actor Anthony Perkins in his role as Norman Bates. As a highly notable characterisation, a photograph is essential in conveying information that the text alone can not convey. It shows something of the mood of the film, and imitates a key scene in the film in which the character assumes a similar pose and manner. Its use is appropriate as the character is discussed throughout the article and is central to the film and its narrative.
7. The film's trailer is considered to be in the public domain, but it should be noted that Anthony Perkins does not appear in the trailer and therefore the trailer is not a source for a comparable image.
