[edit] License tagging for Image:Bucky.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Bucky.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 07:05, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Ray Childress
The image was licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "for use on wikipedia only" which is not considered free enough for wikipedia. Looking at it I would need to see evidence that it was released under any such lisence in any case.Geni 20:25, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
- I'm not employed by wikipedia. The image was released under a lisence that is not free enough for wikipedia. For wikipedia use images need to be released under lisences like the GFDL which allows anyone to use it for anything (includeing comercial use) as long as they keep the image under the GFDL. There is no way to lisence the image as wikipedia only.Geni 23:21, 21 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] re Stephen McGee Image
Well, we have a really strict policy on images. Basically, we only use images that are in the public domain (or licensed under the GDFL, which is basically the same thing)- see WP:IUP. There are a few exceptions for special cases (see WP:FU but this wasn't one of them. So really we mostly only use images that are really old (and their copyright has expired) or that someone made and released into the public domain. Sorry we have to be so strict but there it is. Good luck and happy editing, cheers, Herostratus 01:21, 22 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image tagging for Image:Branndonstewart.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Branndonstewart.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Image:Boonestutz.jpg listed for deletion
If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. MECU≈talk 23:31, 19 December 2006 (UTC)[edit] Boone Stutz

- Did you get some kind of email from the owner of the website/image that they were willing to release this image? If so, Have you forwarded it to Wikipedia? Can you post the relevant section of the email into the image description page please? If you haven't yet, you may want to take a look at Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. Thanks. --MECU≈talk 17:36, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Glen barker
Re your recent creation of Glen barker: Your edit history looks reasonably legit to me, so I didn't immediately tag Glen barker as nonsense and/or a possible hoax, but you really ought to clarify two points: (1) Is Glen Barker's last name capitalized or not? [If so, why is the article not at Glen Barker?] (2) Is "Glen Barker" the same name as "Jose Cruz" or not? [If not, why does the top line of the article refer the reader to Jose Cruz for "other people of this name"?] --Quuxplusone 04:43, 30 July 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Bonfire pics?
Howdy PSully! We're looking for Bonfire pictures, as the article is lacking in them. It's currently a featured article candidate. Do you happen to have any pictures that you can add under one of the free licenses? BlueAg09 (Talk) 22:48, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] RFC/USER discussion concerning (ThreeE)
Hello, PSully. Please be aware that a request for comments has been filed concerning ThreeE's conduct on Wikipedia. The RFC entry can be found by "ThreeE" in this list, and the actual discussion can be found at Wikipedia:Requests for comment/ThreeE, where I would appreciate your participation and comments. — BQZip01 — talk 12:07, 16 September 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Kevin Murray (football)
This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Kevin Murray (football), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Kevin Murray (quarterback). It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 02:59, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:A.gif
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:A.gif. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:A.gif}
Thank you for uploading Image:A.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:
-
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page.
