PSI is an album by the nu metal band Pitchshifter, released in 2002 (see 2002 in music). Their previous two albums had been released on a major label, but this was released by the minor Sanctuary Records. "Eight days" and "Shutdown" were released as singles. PSI continues the style on the band's same distinct cyberpunk feel that they display on the previous albums, but slowing tempos to the mid-paced playing mostly akin to the nu metal-style than previous efforts. The albums also displays down-tuned guitars (JS Clayden remarked in interviews[citation needed] that the band aimed to make it much heavier than their previous record Deviant). In contrast to the jungle influences on Infotainment? and www.pitchshifter.com, the programmed elements take more cues from hip hop and downbeat electronica, hardcore and pop punk.

  • "Shen-An-Doah" contains a hidden track at the end which its title is unknown but is thought to be "Take Control". This was later discovered to be a track called "Trancer", a track that was not released fully onto the PSI album.

This can be proved by observing the "Making of PSI" section on their DVD, where Mark (Clayden) states he is performing backing vocals for a song called "Trancer". A line from the lyrics are, "When I take control".
