PSG College of Arts and Science, affectionately called PSG CAS, is an ISO 9001:2000 certified institute located in Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu, India). It was founded in 1947 by the Managing Trustee Sri G.R. Govindarajulu and the founder Principal Dr. G.R. Damodaran. Under the leadership of Dr. G.R. Damodaran, the college nurtured the early entrepreneurs that ushered in the industrial revolution in Coimbatore.

Let there be charity so that other people may share my family's prosperity
said Sri. P.S.Govindasamy Naidu, and it remains as the motto of the college so far. He believed firmly that charity begins at home.
Thus was born PSG College of Arts and Science in the year 1947 to the PSG & Sons Charities Trust which was founded in the year 1926 by the four praise-worthy sons of P.S. Govindasamy Naidu, the four brothers of the PSG family, Thiru PSG Venkataswamy Naidu, Thiru PSG Rangaswamy Naidu, Thiru PSG Ganga Naidu and Thiru PSG Narayanaswamy Naidu who took "Charity through Education" with great missionary zeal.
Up to 1978, the college was affiliated to Madras University. Now the college is affiliated to Bharathiar University.

"LET THERE BE CHARITY SO THAT OTHER PEOPLE MAY SHARE MY FAMILY'S PROSPERITY", said Sri. P.S.Govindasamy Naidu, the benevolent philanthropist, who believed firmly that 'Charity begins at home'. He daringly defined charity as "To serve society through development of education, industry and the needy and poor".
Thus was born PSG College of Arts and Science in the year 1947 to the PSG & Sons Charities Trust which was founded in the year 1926 by the four praise-worthy sons of P.S. "The Destiny of a Nation is decided in its classrooms" - PSG College of Arts and Science has proved this prophetic statement with conviction by emerging as on of the premier institutions of higher learning in this country. The college has a long-standing academic tradition of excellence in research and scholarship. This is coupled with the most advanced facilities for the pursuit of higher learning. The college has a team of experienced and efficient faculty and our academic programmes are challenging and updated. Twenty two Undergraduate and Twenty one Postgraduate programmes are offered and may of them are unique. M.Phil and Ph.D programmes are offered in Seventeen faculties.
The college was identified as a College with Potential for Excellence by UGC in October 2004. It is one among 47 colleges in the country, 8 in the State and the only one in Bharathiar University.
The college has been accredited at the FIVE STAR level by NAAC and became an ISO 9001: 1994 certified institution in 2001 and subsequently an ISO 9001: 2000 certified institution since 2003. We, at PSGCAS strongly believe in the words of philosopher Plato that, "The direction in which education makes a man, will determine his future life".

Twenty two Undergraduate including various arts and science courses, like BA Economics, Sociology, English and Tamil and BSc courses like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Computer Science,Visual Communication are offererd.
Twenty one Postgraduate programmes are offered. M.Phil and Ph.D programmes are offered in Seventeen faculties.

PSG College of Arts and Science has always been a busy with activity all year round, opening up opportunities for students to showcase their cultural prowess. CASCALL & Euphoria are the annual college cultural competition. Students all over from Tamil nadu participate in them as they have high prizes.
Associations like Mathematics association, Physics association and Chemistry association organise subject related functions to encourage students from campus and out of campus to enrich their knowledge.
The Dept. of Computer Science organises a state-level inter-collegiate technical festival "Gateway" which takes place during Feb-March of every year. The events are primarily tests of computer technologies but also has Design oriented events such as Web Design events too.
