Prussia_ethnicity.JPG (395 × 343 pixels, file size: 30 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)
cropped image of Prussia from "Spread of German settlements to the Eastward, 800-1400." by William S. Shepherd, originally found at the library of the University of Texas.[1].
This image is in the public domain in the United States. In most cases, this means that it was first published prior to January 1, 1923 (see the template documentation for more cases). Other jurisdictions may have other rules, and this image might not be in the public domain outside the United States. See Wikipedia:Public domain and Wikipedia:Copyrights for more details. |
At my talk page the uploader, User:Cautious in responce to my enquiry about the source wrote (translated from Polish): ..they come from legal sources of Congress Library and have a public license. I just cut the interesting pieces from them. Hopefully this will help with assigning the right tag, unfortunately Cautious have not given more details even through I asked him several times. It should be noted he seems to edit Wiki once or twice a month and might have not yet read my requests for more info. --Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus Talk 13:09, 19 July 2005 (UTC)
The image has been cropped from this map, from the University of Texas Perry-Castañeda Library Map Collection, and is asserted by them to be in the public domain. I have accordingly removed the "unknown" tag for the copyright and replaced it with the tag "PD-US". Silverhelm 06:37, 19 October 2005 (UTC).
The name "Letts" in the image is meant to designate all Baltic peoples, which in case of East Prussia means the Old Prussians and some Lithuanians in the far north.Smith2006 11:17, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
