[edit] Image rationale marking
Your sock added {{deletable image-caption}} to box art in the article Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. (diff) Please note that the image in {{Infobox VG}} is not presented as a thumbnail, so the caption you provided will not be displayed. Instead, you should add the template to the caption
parameter of the infobox. Thanks, Pagrashtak 17:36, 10 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] a suggestion
If you are going to tag images, please tag them properly. When you did this tagging you were disputing the rationale. How can you dispute a rationale that isn't there?--Rockfang (talk) 12:32, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] C&C carrier image
I added fair use rationals for all pages that Image:C&C Generals Aircraft Carrier.JPG appears on. Could you double check to make sure that everythings correctly filed? I do not wish to remove the csd tag until I get a second opinion on this. TomStar81 (Talk) 07:38, 25 January 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I was about to add non free reduce to the image page, but I see you beat me to it. Thanks. TomStar81 (Talk) 07:17, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use images
Keep up the great work by finding free use images without proper tagging. Thank you! Royalbroil 14:54, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Tom Clancy Splinter Cell Double Agent
Why has this image (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Scda_boxart.jpg) been nominated for speedy deletion? Fair use rationale has been explained on the image's page. What else is required or missing, or what can be done to save this image? will381796 (talk) 20:27, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
- There are none. See Image:Atlantisgateroom.jpg as an example. Project FMF (talk) 23:38, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Video game covers.
This is a sincere question; I'm not trolling with this. Anyway, why are you tagging various video game cover images for deletion? Or, more specifically, why are you doing this rather than simply adding a rationale, which in the case of cover art tends to be pretty easy and boilerplate? As I'm sure you know, almost all (that is, not non-notable alternate versions) of them probably meet the fair use criteria. And those images without rationales should have them added to comply with policy, for sure. But it strikes me as the same amount of effort to add the "delete" and the "deletable image caption" rather than just add the rationale. Unless you have some script for quickly marking something as deletable?
Feel free to respond here. SnowFire (talk) 23:29, 12 February 2008 (UTC)
- The updated P. FMF userpage and this may answer any questions. « ₣M₣ » 00:50, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
-
- Yes, yes, I know that. The general point I was trying to make was that it seemed a comparable amount of effort to tag these images as it is to write rationales (both of which reduce the backlog by one image), so regardless of whose responsibility it is, why not just write the rationale? Don't get me wrong; if you're willing to contribute time to image cleanup, that's great and needs to be done, but it would seem a lot more efficient Wikipedia-wise if rather than tag 50 images for deletion, you spent the same amount of time time writing 40 rationales. Now, if my math is off (what I was referring to before - perhaps some script that would enable you to quickly tag so that the ratio would be more like 50-5?), then fine, but just sayin'. SnowFire (talk) 02:51, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
- Why are you going around and reducing images even more? I've noticed you going around and uploading even smaller versions of pictures that are already more than small enough to pass the Fair-use guidelines and see no reason to upload even smaller versions. TJ Spyke 04:31, 15 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] {{subst:game rationale|article name|publisher|publisher|platform}}
Learn it, love it, use it. If you're going to focus exclusively on videogame covers, there's no reason you can't fix the rationales yourself (notwithstanding any lame disclaimer). Thanks, ˉˉanetode╦╩ 16:00, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Careful when removing images
Hi, FMF. Thank you for helping to remove decorative non-free images from articles. However, I would encourage you to exercise caution when doing so; your edit to Mexican elections, 2007 destroyed the information in the table. Of course, that information shouldn't have been presented in the form it was, but simply deleting all of the images was not the best thing to do in that case. —Bkell (talk) 23:50, 17 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Arms-kirklees.jpg
Hi, why have you commented this out please? What needs fixing? BlueValour (talk) 02:41, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- For every article a image is used, another rationale for why its being used must be provided. « ₣M₣ » 02:44, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
- Ah, of course, I'll fix it. BlueValour (talk) 02:48, 23 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Gay purr-ee dvd cover.jpg
Non free use rationale added, BUT: point of order: is it really necessary for the images to be tagged by the ones who uploaded them? In the case of a book, movie or DVD cover the fair-use rationale could easily be added by the admin who spots it in the first place. The uploader need only be contacted in the case of ambiguity as to the image's source, portion used, etc. And yeah, I guess that does sound like I'm trying to throw work back at the admins rather than do it myself! Lee M (talk) 02:19, 28 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Source
Are they necessary for fair use articles? I mean, it doesn't matter in the least where I got my scan of a CD cover... unless of course there is a WP:V issue. gren グレン 02:25, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
- For images, yes. If its a scan, then state that. « ₣M₣ » 15:43, 29 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Invader ZIm
Please, by all means, contribute to the rationalizing of these images, but just deleting images you find lacking in rational is a wee bit authoritarian. IDK what you are trying to accomplish through this, given that deleting images benifits no one, but please, at least post it in the talk page for the pages that link to it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.136.11.40 (talk) 21:26, 29 February 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Geometry Wars
I uploaded a new version of the image http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:GeometryWarsGalaxies.png the new version is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:GeometryWarsGalaxies.jpg. The file size has been reduce to 32kb. I'm still a bit new on wikipedia, so I'm not shure about deleting the PNG version of the Image. I'm a supposed to add it to speedy deletions now? Please answer on my Talk Page. Pseudoserpent (talk) 07:15, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Please stop leaving me messages.
I make it more than clear at the top of my talk page that I'm no longer concerned with the 'questionability' of the pictures I uploaded. — [ ric | opiaterein ] — 15:07, 5 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:DaysPast Wuya.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:DaysPast Wuya.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 07:47, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
