Re: Welcome to VandalProof!
Thanks for letting me use VandalProof! Andrew 13:19, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
Same problem

computer
well I am not the administrator...and my parents are on a trip in Brazil with the password to access the administrator account. I would call them, except for that I can't get a conncection. Actually, I don't think I am going to be on wilkipedia for a while, and after I return I can function just fine without VP, so if you want you can remove me from the accpeted users list. Thank you for all of your hard work. Thetruthbelow(talk) 21:49, 23 May 2006 (UTC)
Help
I am being pushed to revert some pages, as someone tends to remove the legitimate links I provide and the categories that I supply for the article Kosovo. I would appreciate if you consider that before taking an action to block me for 3RR instead of them. I am having a tough time trying to keep some (suspected one) user who keeps distorting the text, and removing my EU sources and citations. Your help would be appreciated, ilir_pz 22:33, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

- Thanks for the prompt action. ilir_pz 22:42, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

- What about if someone removes legitimate links that I add? what if I keep getting those links back? in the past I got blocked because I did this several times, but in fact I was just reverting back the links that are useful for the page and provide clarifications. Sorry to bother you with this, but I don't like that I get blocked just like that, without the admin checking what I was reverting to. ilir_pz 22:50, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

User:Drini Imposter
Sorry Prodego, I was playing a trick on my friend from school. I won't do it again. Will 15:29, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
thanks, prodego Will 18:50, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
Waywardson13 ty
Thanks for bringing me back down to earth, prodego. I would be very thankful if you delete that page. No need to add it to my user subpage, though. If I want to try again, later, I can make another one.
if there is anything I can do for you (i.e. editing and research) I would be happy to oblige.
Thanks once more
Help moi
Will 20:40, 25 May 2006 (UTC) Hello prodego. It's Waywardson13 again. I need a bit of help. What bad (i.e. inaccurate, inappropriote) things should I check for in a page? If you could send some sort of list that would really help. Also, how do you get those cool graphics on your page?
User:Jjjsixsix/Vandalismbox
Hey, can you delete that page for me? It's causing me more trouble than it is good, with friends messing around with it and identifying me and other stuff. Thanks. -- Jjjsixsix (talk|review)@ 21:58, 25 May 2006 (UTC)
Re: IP blocking
Hey, thanks for the note. I went with 3 months in that case because the vandalism resumed after the previous three-month block by Hall Monitor. Thanks for the link, though; all I remembered was that IPs are not supposed to be indef-blocked except in certain circumstances. :)
- Thanks! :) RadioKirk talk to me 00:44, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
AmiDaniel RfA
Hi there. There's probably no point arguing with User:Anwar saadat about why he is opposing a whole bunch of RFAs, and all Indian related candidacies. Look at his talk archives and also his post at WP:AN/I. He has been editing people's comments and marking them as "trolling". None of his oppose votes have managed to generate extra oppose votes. For me, AmiDaniel's RfA is still unanimous - at least in my eyes anyway. Regards, Blnguyen | Have your say!!! 02:04, 26 May 2006 (UTC)

- Of, course, it's commendable to stick up for AmiDaniel, but I was just wondering whether you knew what Anwar had been up to.Blnguyen | Have your say!!! 02:12, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
Question
Hi, it's Waywardson13. I tried reading the directions on how to fix disambiguation pages, but they were confusing. Can you explain it to me please? Will 12:10, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- I started with anarchy. Thanks once more. Will 20:40, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
Re. Mod page
To what are we referring to?? you are telling me that 1.0.0 is disabled, 1.2.0 is not but 1.2.1 is. Agian, is this versions of Vandal proof that you are refering to? In that case I am not aware of a release after v1.2.0. (so confused)... Programming this is not hard, but I can't explain until I know to what you refer. Sorry Eagle talk 20:21, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
Oh, that is not hard. What AmiDaniel did was in addition to having the program check to see if you are a approved user, the program also checks to see if the version is approved. Currently v1.1.0, and v1.2.0 are allowed. AmiDaniel is doing this to make sure that everyone's version is current(to atleast the last 2 releases).
Programmatically all that happens is:
- If: FIND: "DONOTALLOW <version here> <endline>"
- Then: Program will not work. (simple, don't you think?)
Does this help? Eagle talk 20:30, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
v1.2
What he did was disable v1.0.x, and apparently whenenver a new version of the same number is realeased, all previous versions of vandalproof (in the same 1.2.x group) get removed as well. Give me a few moments to look at a few pages... but amidaniel is having the program check some info somwhere so it knows to disable it's self. Eagle talk 20:36, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- With out access to source code, I can only tell you how I would go about a problem. More than likely amidaniel is doing the samething as I am thinking... but with a slight variation somewhere. Eagle talk 20:36, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
Will 20:45, 26 May 2006 (UTC) What's vandel fighting? It sounds fun.
Could you give me more info on the vandal removing Will 20:53, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
VoABot
Actually, I don't need the deletion log, I can just use &action=edit triggers. It should delist deleted articles now and not list them again either (after it delists them). Keep an eye on it.Voice-of-AllTalk 22:22, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- What article should it delist? See a test here[1] and here[2].Voice-of-AllTalk 23:09, 26 May 2006 (UTC)
- OK...I made some more changes. HTTP Cookie, cannot be automatically delisted, though if you remove it, it will not be re-added (b/c the bot only checks so far back). In the future, such things will be delisted, since it checks for this stuff each time it does anything. See an example here: protection [3]; listing [4]; deletion/restoration [5]; delisting [6].Voice-of-AllTalk 04:14, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
