I added FMW to major promotions. It was at its apex a company drawing huge crowds to Kawasaki Stadium and is more than just an indy promotion. If AJW and GAEA are classed as Major then FMW is more than worthy. 172.189.72.48 18:19, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
GAEA is not major. Corrected. Surge79uwf 02:53, 2 January 2007 (UTC)
FMW was a major promotion. They sold out Kawasaki stadium several times, had PPV coverage and were unarguably bigger than All Japan Womans which has been listed as major. FMW was most certainly a major promotion, not an indy one.
It's nice to see there are still FMW fan-boys out there, but having lived in Japan and attended an FMW show, I can assure you it was no more than an indy. --Endlessdan 19:22, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] UWF/UWFi and other changes
If you're going to class FMW as a major promotion, classing these as indy is criminal. UWFi had the highest average attendance per show of any promotion in the world in 1994. One Night In Hackney303 15:23, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
- I've been bold and changed that. Other changes include the removal of "defunct", seeing as it wasn't being applied uniformly and if added to every promotion that was defunct it would look ridiculous. Also I've moved the GPWA as there's no way it should be at the top above AJPW etc. One Night In Hackney303 15:37, 17 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Request for protection
As per discussion on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Professional wrestling#FMW.2C a major promotion.3F.3F, this page should be locked since there are no new promotions in Japan that spring up frequently enough to warrant frequent changes on this page. The major issue for debate has been whether FMW is a 'major' promotion, which it is not. --Endlessdan 13:54, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
- Please use Wikipedia:Requests for page protection to request protection. However, I myself am not seeing the need for protection to this page. --- RockMFR 18:19, 21 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Universal Fighting Organization
Why is Universal Fighting Organization listed on a template of professional wrestling promotions? UFO is an MMA promotion that has housed fighters like Royce Gracie, Matt Serra, etc. I am going to remove it from that template unless someone can give a valid reason not to.
