Talk:Provincial heads of Eritrea

[edit] Appropriateness of this page
It would seem that most of this page should not be listed here as they have to do with the individual regions of Eritrea and not Eritrea itself. Merhawie 20:05, 14 August 2006 (UTC)
- You're right. The rulers of Habesh eylati should be separated from the Italian colonization, but it's useful to keep rulers from the Italian period up until independence in one list, as they're too short to stand on their own, and the territory is the same size throughout the period. — ዮም | (Yom) | Talk • contribs • Ethiopia 00:34, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

- You mean from Italian Colonization until 1991? I thought it would be better to split them at the point Federation was dissolved...Do you think that would be better? I dont know I guess the reason I dont like the page is that it says ERITREA and so it should only talk about that. If we are talking about the smaller parts of Eritrea before it became a colony and the modern borders were set the page seems grossly innaccurate to me. Do you understand? - Yes, that's what I'm saying too, because the province of Habesh was only Massawa and Hergigo (and some of the surrounding coast), so it doesn't really fit on this page. I don't know why the dissolution of the federation wouldn't fit under "Eritrea," however, as there was no difference in the territory or name. A better split might be with the British Administration, with one article being "Colonial heads of Eritrea," and the other being "Provincial heads of Eritrea," the latter going from 1942-1991 (or 1993??). — ዮም | (Yom) | Talk • contribs • Ethiopia 01:34, 1 September 2006 (UTC)

- Well for the Federation question I was not actually suggesting that they be put on separate pages, I was merely suggesting that they should be separated on the page. But yes, I think Colonial Heads of Eritrea would be an excellent page. Thank you. --Merhawie 01:52, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
