Talk:Prosh (University of Western Australia)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I think it worth pointing out that other universities in Australia have a "Prosh". Whilest not necessarily quite the same concept as UWA - indeed a quick google suggests both Adelaide and Melbourne spend their "Prosh week" performing pranks for charity (no mention of a paper I could see) - I think this article needs to be expanded to explain Prosh-Australia-wide and list UWA, Adelaid, Melbourne and any others. To above: I didn't know of any other Prosh like activities, but if you could direct the students from those universities to write something about their Prosh day maybe we could further organise the article into what you suggested. As yet, no mention of them so I won't bother massacring the page :) - Serephine Somehow there is content that relates to Prosh at other unis at a user's sandbox - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Yeti_Hunter/Sandbox I have no idea how to amalgamate that info into this article: can someone more knowledgeable do what is necessary? [edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Prosh 2005.jpg
Image:Prosh 2005.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Prosh and the University of Adelaide - Origins
This article erroneously states that the origin of the word "PROSH" is derived from the University of Adelaide. There is a reference attached to that statement that does not prove the statement itself, yet Wikipedia will not allow me to alter or remove the offending sentence.
All actual evidence retrieved, such as from p.28 of "Student Days" (a history of the UWA Student Guild) indicates that the term is indigenous to UWA, contracted from "Procession" and has no apparent link to it's use in Adelaide. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.95.100.32 (talk) 03:05, 3 April 2008 (UTC)
