[edit] Gameplay

The first three stages are completely horizontally scrolling, the fourth is vertically scrolling, the fifth is vertical in the beginning and horizontal in the second half (note that the airship can only shoot straight (through rapid fire, the C button) - holding down the A button makes the player's projectiles homing but slows down the movement of the airplane.) Bonus items (I don't know what they're called) are dropped from enemies upon death - they can be attracted by holding down the A button (if the A button is already held down, one would have to take the finger off the button and hold it down again) --elias.hc 16:23, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Boss fights are made up of multiple stages: With every stage (triggered by how much energy the boss has left), the vehicle of the boss looks different. The type of bullets and the way they spread changes as well. Bonus items are dropped after every stage and an explosion can be seen (damaging the vehicle of the boss). --elias.hc 16:29, 18 May 2006 (UTC)

Quote from MAWS on the choice of plane and gunner:

The game features 2 different planes with their own statistics :
Gambler (Ring Reed) - blue plane : Weapon : Wide shot - Speed : Normal
Militant (Bolt Voiyer) - green plane : Weapon : Focus shot - Speed : Fast

After choosing a plane, the player will pick a gunner from the three following :
Alpha gun flyer (Chain) : Explosion missile
Beta gun flyer (Nail) : Cannon ball
Gamma gun flyer (Rivet) : Homing missile

[edit] Bullet Hell genre

I see that the game was recatted as a scrolling shooter at one point. That's fair... but it's only fair it's a bullet hell genre game as well... so I thought I'd throw that category in. I hope that that is okay though.

If not, could I have a reasonable explanation? That would be most appreciated in case it gets changed again. --Ralf Loire (Annoy) 20:52, 5 May 2007 (UTC)

Progrear is certainly of the danmaku/bullet hell/manic shooter category, so I myself don't see any issue with it. The only reason I see anyone else changing it is either ignorance of the material, or perhaps trying to tone down the subgenres of a niche video game genre. But if someone really wanted to do that, then they'd just delete the entire category. Crithit5000 06:57, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
Well it seems the category itself is being discussed on deletion at current by the will of that one dude, as I had just noticed it. If things turn out bad (read: it gets the thumbs down in the end) then I suppose it could be removed... but that would be a pity, methinks. --Ralf Loire (Annoy) 07:00, 6 May 2007 (UTC)
