The Province of Upper Silesia (German: Provinz Oberschlesien; Polish: Górny Śląsk; Silesian: Górny Ślonsk) was a province of the Free State of Prussia from 1919 to 1945. It was reunited with Lower Silesia as the Province of Silesia between 1938 and 1941. The capital of Upper Silesia was Oppeln (Opole). The province was further divided into two administrative regions (Regierungsbezirke), Kattowitz and Oppeln.
The region of Upper Silesia now lies mainly in Poland (Opole and Silesian Voivodeships), with parts in the Czech Republic (Czech Silesia).
