Providence St. Peter Hospital, located at 413 Lilly Rd NE, Olympia, Washington, is Providence Health & Services’s second largest Washington state hospital. St. Peter is a 390-bed, not-for-profit regional teaching hospital founded by the Sisters of Providence in 1887[1]. Located in Olympia, the state capital, Providence St. Peter Hospital offers comprehensive medical, surgical and behavioral health services[2].

Providence St. Peter has been named one of the 100 Top Hospitals in the nation for cardiology, orthopedics and stroke care[3]. The outpatient surgery center has received national benchmark awards for its work in cataract surgery, knee arthroscopy and many other procedures. Recently, a new emergency center opened that features 39 private patient treatment rooms, with specialized rooms for trauma, cardiac/stroke, women's health and pediatric emergencies[4].

Patients and visitors with their own laptops and other wireless devices will find fast, convenient internet service in the emergency department, cafeteria and select patient areas. Users should note that the connection is not encrypted and users assume all responsibility for access. Certain content and sites may not be accessible to users.

[edit] Sunshine House Guest Lodging

Sunshine House is a hotel facility that provides comfortable and affordable lodging for patients and their family members who use health care services in the Olympia area. The facility features 24 private, beautifully furnished guest rooms, each equipped with a bathroom, telephone, alarm clock and television. The house also includes three kitchens, three central gathering areas and laundry facilities. Four recreational vehicle spots are available with water, sewer and electrical hook-ups.

Reservations
Advanced requests for rooms are gladly taken by calling the Sunshine House office at (360) 493-7900, or by making an online reservation. Your reservation will be confirmed by telephone or email 24 hours in advance of your scheduled stay.

To help offset ongoing operations costs, guests pay nominal room and RV charges. Payments can be made in cash, by check, or with VISA, MasterCard or Discover. Financial assistance is available as needed.

More Information

• The kitchen facilities at Sunshine House include utensils, cookware and dishes. If you prefer, meals are available in the cafeteria located on the second floor of the hospital.

• Free parking is available adjacent to Sunshine House.

• Escort service is provided by the security department to and from Sunshine House to most Providence St. Peter Hospital facilities.

• Sunshine House is a lodging facility only. Nursing and personal care services are not available. Guests must be able to meet all their own hygiene and meal needs or be accompanied by someone who can assist them at all times.

Providence St. Peter Hospital’s Medical Library is open for the use of Medical Staff, residents, medical students, hospital employees, and the general public[5].

Currently the library collection consists of over 1500 textbooks, 250 print journals, over 350 e-journals, and multiple computer programs and databases. It is currently staffed by two employees: Medical Librarian Isaac Huffman,[6] MSLS and Library Technician Lewis Daniell[7].
