Protestantism in Qatar

Protestants are less than 1 % of the population of Qatar.[1] There is some limitation of the religious liberty of Christians. [2] The constitution provides for religious liberty.[3] Proselytizing by non-Muslims is prohibited by law.[4] No foreign missionary groups operate openly in the country.[5] Religious groups must register with the Government for legal recognition.[6] Christians are subject to the Sharia. [7] Christian religious literature in English is available in bookstore.[8] In 2006 the first building of a church in 14 centuries was started.[9] It is built in Doha.[10] It includes conference center and meeting rooms.[11]Publication, import and distribution of Christian religious literature is banned.[12]
