Protestantism in Brunei

Protestants are 1.3% (4,841 persons) of the population of Brunei. [1] There have been 0.6% Evangelicals in 1996. [2] Contact with Christians in other countries, import of bibles and public celebration of christmas are banned by decree. [3]
Christians in Brunei are not allowed to proselytize. [4] Schools are not allowed to teach Christianity. [5] If religious organizations fail to register, its members can be aprisoned. [6] Teaching of non-Muslim religions in schools is prohibited. [7] Marriages between Protestants and Muslims are prohibited. [8] People, who change their religion from Islam to another, are subject to societal and official pressure. [9] Bibles are prohibited. [10]
